History of the 1956-1962 MG MGA
The MGA 1957 roadster is powered by a 72 horsepower 1,489cc overhead valve engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission it featured, independent front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering and a solid rear axle with leaf springs. Braking is by hydraulic drums at all corners. MGAs are ideal first collector cars. They’re affordable, simple to work on, rugged and attractive.
